Spending Time With The People I Care About
With Christmas, Chanukah, and Kwanza all falling within the month of December, we are truly in the peak of the holiday season. For many of us, this means we get to spend more time with family and friends. As part of developing a deep relationship with our clients, we often discuss their most important priorities, and “spending time with the people I care about” tends to come up the most at this time of year.
We were helping a retired couple who were considering moving to their favorite vacation spot. With every conversation, they expressed the importance of family, and in particular, spending time with their grandchildren. This potential relocation would have meant being on the other side of the country, and putting significant distance between them and their grandkids. After a deep discussion and weighing the pros and cons, we ultimately decided the best decision was to downsize their local residence, giving them the ability to spend as much time as they want near their grandkids, while also enabling them to purchase a condo near their favorite vacation spot.
We pride ourselves on getting to know our clients, and the important decisions that can be mismanaged without these deep relationships in place.
